The Virginia Symphony, Virginia Stage Company and Virginia Opera

Classical music, drama and opera are alive and well in Norfolk, Virginia. The city is a destination for all styles of concerts and plays.

Virginia Symphony

The Virginia Symphony Orchestra plays at Chrysler Hall, the performing arts center at the Scope complex downtown. With more than 140 classical, pops, family and educational performances each season, the Virginia Symphony has repeatedly been recognized for its national caliber of excellence. The orchestra includes over 70 professional musicians and over 60 voices in the Virginia Symphony Chorus.

 

Virginia Stage Company

Wells Theatre

The Virginia Stage Company performs at the restored Wells Theatre, which is also downtown. It's the region's only fully professional theatre company. The company provides matinee performances of mainstage productions as well as touring productions to over 50,000 Hampton Roads students annually. VSC also participates as a Partner in Education with several schools by providing services such as performances, drama classes, production training and workshops to Title One schools and others at no charge.

 

Virginia Opera

Harrison Opera House

The Virginia Opera performs at the beautiful Harrison Opera House, downtown. It is one of the finest regional opera companies in the nation and has the largest education and outreach program in the country. Tickets.
