The dates for the 2015 American Music Festival are September 4 - September 6, 2015.

The American Music Festival is Virginia Beach's big end-of-summer concert event. Concerts take place on four stages in the oceanfront area.

The line-up includes performers that represent a variety of type of music, but the biggest acts are usually from the pop and county music world. Not all the performers are natinoal acts. You'll find great regional and local bands at this festival too.

The big, ticketed concerts happen on the beach at 5th Street and free concert are held at parks along the resort strip. There are vendors and sponsor displays at each of the stage areas.

5th Street Stage

The main stage is on the beach at 5th Street, allowing concert-goers to enjoy music with sand between their toes. This is where the biggest national acts perform and you'll need tickets to see these shows.

Free Concerts at 17th Street Park, 24th Street Park, and 31st Street Park

You can catch free concerts by national and regional acts at the three additional main stages. IF that's not enough music for you, there are additional smaller stages located along the boardwalk at 13th Street, 22nd Street, and 27th Street. The boardwalk stages feature local bands.

2015 American Music Festival Line-Up

The 2015 concert line-up has not yet been announced. As soon as we hear who the 2015 performers are, we'll post the information here.

American Music Festival Hotels

Almost any hotel at the oceanfront would be acceptable for attending the festival, but if you want to be close to the main stage on the beach at 5th Street, you'll want to choose one of the hotels at the south end of the strip. Some of the closest are the Beach Quarters Resort, Ocean Key Resort, Turtle Cay Resort, and Ramada Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon

For you runners out there, combine your American Music Festival experience with a run in the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon on September 6th. If you're not up to a half marathon, there are 5k and Mile on the Sand options too. The mile race is on Saturady, the 5th.

The half-marathon starts at the Virginia Beach Convention Center and ends on the Boardwalk between 12th and 14th Streets. It's a fun race with live local bands and cheerleaders performing along the route.

There's a finish line festival and that night there's a concert by Sheryl Crow.

Visit the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon website for details and registration information.

The closest hotel to the starting line at the Virginia Beach Convention Center is the DoubleTree by Hilton Virginia Beach.

Virginia Beach & Norfolk

The region's two biggest cities are very different but both have so much to offer. The good news is they're only a short drive apart.
